Based on the South Coast, creative print specialists Dayfold has purchased and installed their new PFi Blade B2 digital cutting table from Duplo to create new opportunities in the market space.
“We work with blue brands and agencies across multiple sectors providing solution-based print. Our solutions are always intended to be impactful and ensure the design is delivered in the best possible way maximising the customers’ ROI. Says Del Simmons, Managing Director of Dayfold.” We don’t simply take orders and process quotes, we develop the campaigns and ideas that the brands and creative agencies have, working hand in hand to deliver fantastic solutions to their projects. This is why we made the move to look into digital cutting tables, the more we use the PFi Blade B2, the more we learn the more we are finding new opportunities to get creative. It has provided us with various added value solutions to our offering.”
The Duplo PFi Blade B2 is a compact and affordable cutting solution that requires no physical dies to create impactful and highly intricate designs. With it’s Duplo Connect software, users can easily and quickly excel in short run packaging, prototyping, labels and promotional items. In September Duplo announced a new module to the table, the roll feeding option. The optional feeder also allows customers to feed and cut oversized materials, creating longer finished applications adding additional value to the PFI Cutting table to roll materials such as vinyl to make labels, clothing transfer products etc. maximising customers’ profits.
When talking about the Blade, Del said “We were looking at the smaller B3 model and some other manufacturers, but the B2 has more flexibility and embellishment opportunities than the other models. The sheet size is also an extra tick in the box for us. Our operators have been really impressed with the versatility of the machine and we already have comments such as “how did we do this before without this machine”. Duplo have been great with service and training, and we continue to work closely with them to achieve new and innovative solutions.”
Founded in 1980, the Dorset based printer operates out of three units in Verwood, with 45 staff. Del continues, “The blade compliments our current equipment which includes Indigo and Ricoh digital presses, Duplo booklet maker with square back binding and further digital finishing equipment. Our Litho offering consists of B2 conventional and SRA1 LED UV printing. In finishing we have foiling, die cutting, embossing, bonding, folding and stitching. We strongly believe that good printing is about so much more than putting ink on paper, the combination of a good design with the right input and advice can lift the end result to a higher level. Whether it be printing on new materials or combining unusual finishes we are always up for a challenge and happy to push the production boundaries.”
“The global pandemic came at a difficult time for us when we were in the middle of a fairly large investment in kit and infrastructure. Thankfully, due to solid support from our clients and suppliers we are now above pre-pandemic and looking forward to the challenges ahead as we continue to grow our services and offerings to our valued customers.”
