14. Policy Statement by Duplo International Ltd (the Company) in respect of The Waste Electrical & Electronic Equipment Regulations 2013 (WEEE)

PRODUCER OBLIGATION

As a producer and supplier to the Business to Business market, we are committed to the protection of the environment and therefore the successful implementation of the above regulations.

We are a registered producer of WEEE (producer number WEE/MM5955AA) and also a member of an approved Compliance Scheme operated by ECOSURETY (membership number ECO2584).

We undertake to provide the Compliance Scheme manager with accurate and timely declarations in respect of new equipment placed on the market.

All records relating to WEEE will be retained for a minimum period of four years.

We will provide information to UK customers by various means including company website, product operating instructions, specific WEEE related customer announcements, invoices, Terms and Conditions, product labelling and by word of mouth via both our own sales team and our distributor network.

UK customers can return Duplo products to us at the end of their life, free-of-charge. The company will arrange collection, but this is a chargeable service. Price on application.

We will arrange for the uplifting of WEEE from UK customers premises where a like for like machine has been purchased and delivered, the timing of the collection of WEEE may however differ from that of the delivery of the new machine. UK customers wishing to return WEEE should advise the company at the time of placing their order for new equipment.

We reserve the right to make a charge in relation to the disposal of any waste contents subsequently found in WEEE (e.g. Debris, dust, liquid) as these should be removed by the final user prior to handover.

We will not be responsible for WEEE originally produced by ourselves where our branding has been replaced with alternative branding, or where the WEEE has been converted or modified without our permission.

Where business users are not replacing WEEE and the WEEE does not bear the date mark on the ’crossed-out’ wheelie bin symbol, they are required to meet the costs of collection, treatment and disposal themselves. There is no financial obligation on either ourselves or our distributors in respect of this. We will however consider arranging these services upon application although this will be chargeable.
