What year did you start working for Duplo and how did you find the job?

I originally started working for Duplo as Temp in the Customer Support department in March 2007 and was offered a full-time role in July 2007.

What attracted you to the role at Duplo?

When working as a temp you get to know the team you are working with and this had a big influence when the full-time role was offered.  It is important that there is a good vibe within your department, and I felt this instantly in service.

Describe your Duplo career path?

I started in the Customer Support team and then moved over to Service, which has always been my favourite department.  I’ve now worked at Duplo for 12 years and still enjoy it.

What makes your job exciting?

I wouldn’t say my role is exciting, but it is challenging, and every day is different, depending on each customers expectation.

We all have our own level of expectations, but some are higher than others.

Describe a day/week in the life of a Senior Service Administrator?

Every day is different as you never know what the next telephone call or email is going to bring.

What is your biggest responsibility?

We are the first line of support for customers and to assist them with the queries etc.  Also ensuring that we are the back up support for the engineers in the field as they are the face of Duplo and we are their back up.

What is the hardest part of your role?

There is not a hard part of my role just the expectation I have on myself to do things properly.

How much have you changed as a professional and personally since joining Duplo?

I would like to think I am still the same person I have always been.

What is the best piece of advice that you would give to a person thinking about getting into Service Administration? –

Be yourself, when you are honest and open then you obtain respect from customers as they know where they are.

FUN FACTS:

Use three words to best describe yourself?  Pro-active, honest, trustworthy

If you could do any other job for a day, what would it be? – Horse riding instructor

If you could live anywhere, where would it be?  America

What’s your favourite film – The Wizard of Oz

Who is your hero? – Was my step dad.

What is your biggest fear? - Drowning

What really makes you angry? –  I don’t really get angry, more frustrated, both personally and professionally.   I have high expectations of myself and expect other people to have the same.  Unfortunately, this is not always the case.
