Duplo Brings More Time-Critical Quality to Just Digital

Fast-expanding Just Digital Ltd, the time-critical marketing services and print specialist, has invested in new finishing systems from Duplo in the wake of a move to new purpose-built, modern premises in Huntingdon.

The new equipment – including five Duplo 5000 PRO bookletmaking systems – all with automated stacking modules and two with cover feeders, creating stitched booklets, a KB-4000 binder and an Ideal guillotine – is central to the development for Just Digital Ltd, which includes Mercedes-Benz, the NHS and Anglian Water among blue-chip clients.

Just Digital, with its largest single contract at £1.2 million, increased its turnover by 25% to £6.5 million this year. Employing 110 people, it is also actively recruiting.

The company, which has moved from 6,000 to 43,000 sq ft offices and production facilities, needed Duplo’s finishing systems to be more cost-effective and improve automation to get rid of bottlenecks as volumes increased.

Now one of Europe’s biggest single users of Duplo systems, let alone in the UK, Just Digital is already reaping the benefits.

Just Digital has opened up new marketing opportunities, as well as a massive step forward with automation, particularly now it takes only a matter of seconds to move from one job to another no matter how sophisticated the products. The 5000s provide variable data finishing for true added value production.

Just Digital Managing Director Adam Hill said: “Ensuring continuous, excellent quality production of time-critical materials in a short time-frame is everything to our business. Duplo has given us that, as well as outstanding back-up. Customer service is an easy thing to say, but not so easy to deliver – Duplo makes it happen and provides real customer engagement.”

He added: “Our staff have really taken to the Duplo systems because they produce fantastic quality products, as well as being so simple to use and are fully automated.”

Further developments in customer engagement schemes, enhanced training and servicing, as well as wider industry-support initiatives are all part of the continuing growth strategy for Duplo, the print finishing pioneer.

Peter Jolly, Duplo UK Managing Director, said: “Just Digital is another prime example of a company seeing the benefits of our fully automated, precision systems that are at the heart of our business. We continue to work with our customers through specific engagement initiatives and are making further investments in servicing and training, as well as wider initiatives for the future prosperity of our industry.”
