Design and digital company Spingold has signed a deal during drupa to become the UK’s first user of Duplo’s innovative new die-cutting system aimed at mid-volume, high speed digital printers.

The PFi Di-CUT 300, which has had its worldwide launch at drupa and is being shown on Duplo’s booth (Stand 61, in Hall 6) at the show in Düsseldorf, Germany, has been sold to the company in Sudbury, Suffolk.

The system produces a variety of digital print and packaging products, including custom-shaped brochures and direct mailers, stationery, retail tags, brochures and direct mailers, stationery, retail packages, labels and folded boxes from quantities of one.

Ed Oakes, Director of fast-growing printer Spingold Design & Print Ltd, said: “We do huge amounts of business cards and tags. This PFi die-cutter from Duplo is ideal for round corner applications. This system is so fast but yet 100% accurate on every item produced and will create a time saving of up to 75% in the finishing department, as well as open up new areas of business such as intricate stickers.”

A year ago, Spingold took on a Duplo 350 Digital Booklet System and then a Duplo DC-745 multifinisher, followed by an investment in an Ideal 7260 guillotine.
Oakes added, “We just love the Duplo kit. It’s so reliable, as is the servicing. The people, too, are just so friendly as well.”

Peter Jolly, Duplo UK Managing Director, said: “The unique features of X&Y registration on the PFi Di-CUT 300 makes this particularly attractive to digital print companies, such as Spingold. This system meets high-volume digital print requirements and opens up important new markets for them, as well as creating massive time savings.”

“The PFi Di-CUT 300 is another example of our systems that are all designed to help companies work faster, smarter and better.”
