Commercial printer BCQ has been announced as the first UK customer of the DC-746 IFS, Duplo’s top of the range multifinisher complete with an Integrated Folding System.
The Integrated Folding System (IFS) enhancement was introduced at Duplo’s Summer Festival, which was where BCQ Managing Director Chris Knowles first saw the machine.
Not only has the Duplo DC-746 IFS achieved the next level in automation, this easy-to-use system eliminates the need for a separate paper folding machine. It also enables users to cut, crease, perforate and fold digitally-printed sheets in a single pass.
It automatically folds sheets up to 350gsm that have been cut, creased and perforated, applying one of six common fold patterns, before stacking. This helps remove a bottleneck in the finishing process that occurs when setting up separate jobs. It is perfectly suited to the production of brochures, menus, greeting cards, tent cards, invitations and newsletters.
“We evaluated the market in terms of digital finishing equipment, and found that in addition to the full automation, high productivity and quality, it also provided us with additional versatility,” said Chris Knowles, Managing Director of BCQ in Buckingham. “It’s just what we needed as we continue to expand across our markets. We’re delighted.”
Peter Jolly, Duplo UK Managing Director, said: “This is another great addition to our portfolio and will enable customers to improve the efficiency of their operations. Eliminating a separate process not only streamlines the workflow but also supports faster turnaround times
