Publidistribution Tougas, a private distribution company based in Saguenay, has purchased its first Duplo DM230V Collator with DMSE Stacker/Elevator, in order to reduce labour costs and guarantee fast turnaround times for its unaddressed mail business.
Since the various weekly promotional offers are valid from Thursday to Wednesday, Tougas must complete production of collated sets by Tuesday afternoon latest, in order to ensure that all 65,000 households have received their set by Wednesday afternoon. However, advertising leaflets can arrive from the printers as late as Sunday, which means that production cannot start until Monday morning.
Each set typically contains between 9-18 different leaflets, and up to now Tougas has employed 20-24 people to collate sets manually. With the installation of the Duplo DM Collator, Tougas expects to be able to reduce their workforce by more than half.
The Duplo DM230V Collator was the only automated solution which could handle the wide range of unaddressed mail leaflets.
Tougas is part of the ‘’Publi-Sac” network of distribution companies which operates exclusively in Quebec province, Canada's largest province by area (over 1.5 million km2) and which reaches more than 3.5 million households.
