Cassette and CD manufacturer Wizbit continues to innovate, enhancing its production capabilities with the installation of two Duplo PFi Blade B2+ digital cutting tables. This strategic move marks another milestone in Wizbit's commitment to delivering high-quality media duplication solutions.
Less than a year since acquiring their first Duplo PFi B2+ cutting table in early 2023, Wizbit has now added a second to their arsenal. These cutting-edge digital cutters have proven instrumental, empowering Wizbit to undertake nearly all packaging production in-house.
"We have significantly expanded our in-house packaging production capabilities, handling nearly all packaging tasks internally, except for exceptionally large-scale projects and long runs. This shift has empowered us with greater control over our operations, allowing us to perform colour matching internally and keep costs lower. Previously, we had to wait for packaging to arrive before printing cassette tapes, but now, we have the autonomy to manage this process seamlessly." explained Managing Director Paul Martin.
"We are one of the world's leading media duplication companies, providing CD, DVD, cassette, MiniDisc, VHS and USB duplication for hundreds of record labels, including the world's big three of Warner, Sony, and Universal," stated Managing Director Paul Martin. "At Wizbit, we provide low to medium volume disc, cassette, and MiniDisc production to music industry customers mainly in the UK, but also worldwide, mainly in Europe and North America. The PFi Blade machines fit the bill perfectly, enabling us to print and cut a wide array of packaging materials efficiently.”
Adam Drummond, Regional Sales Manager at Duplo said, “Wizbit, are an unusual printer, in the sense that they do more manufacturing than printing. Their products are out of this world, and they have a really interesting set up. After being approached we demonstrated the PFi Blade B2 to the team and they were blown away, their imaginations running wild. Matched with their Xerox Versant 280 the Blade B2 has streamlined their short run work, bringing a lot of their packing in-house. It also allows them to create the CD sleeves and inserts to all the products they make. The operators really enjoy working on the machines due to the Blades intuitive software allowing them to make short work of really complex jobs. They are a great bunch of highly creative people with some really beautiful work going through their doors.
Expressing satisfaction with the B2 Blade investments, Martin added, "Since we already had the first Blade up and running and had some good training sessions on it, it didn’t take long for the second to come online. They are both very reliable and the purchase of the second machine gives us the flexibility to meet our customers’ demands of quick turnaround times on their projects – which is a major reason why they keep coming back to us.”
