Reading based Lola Design, Print, Web have recently made a significant upgrade by installing the Duplo DC-618 multi finisher, a compact and versatile finishing solution. This investment has transformed their operations, bringing enhanced productivity and accuracy to their card production.
Lola Print has been a trusted name in the printing industry since 1986, leveraging advanced digital printing technology to deliver vibrant and precise prints. Specialising in print for business cards, postcards, flyers, and greeting cards, along with larger formats for marketing materials and fine art reproductions, their dedicated team collaborates with clients to create tailored solutions that meet unique requirements. Offering a wide range of materials, finishes, and sizes, Lola Print ensures flexibility and versatility, making them the go-to partner for businesses and artists alike.
The decision to invest in the Duplo DC-618 multi finisher, follows a change of ownership in May 2024. New owners Brad Bray and John Pike, took over the business with a view to continue providing exceptional service and a commitment to continual innovation and improvement.
“Outstanding customer service, and exceeding expectations is at the forefront of our business ethos,” said John Pike, incoming Director of Lola Print. “This investment demonstrates that our commitment is unwavering, and ensures we will always serve our customers with high quality, fast turnaround production as demand keeps growing.”
Steve Enright, Lola Print Production Manager, was also enthusiastic about the investment. “While the DC-618 didn’t replace any existing equipment, it has revolutionised our workflow, it’s pretty much made the guillotine and hand creaser redundant and enabled true multitasking," Steve explained. “You don’t have to stand and watch the machine. If there is a problem, the machine stops. Usually, the bin is full as it has been so busy!”
"The DC-618 has massively improved production. Accuracy is very important, to be able to use the barcode and reg mark for accuracy and then hit the button and go and do something else—it has freed up so much time," he said. Having previously used a similar model in Australia, Steve was confident in the DC-618’s capabilities. "It was a no-brainer," he shared.
Brad Bray, Chairman of Lola Print, shared some insights into their journey with the new machine. "We hoped to achieve more productivity and accuracy by limiting more manual tasks with the automation and impositions available on the DC-618. We have been able to fulfil this hope. The DC-618 has a learning curve like any new device but is a simple device to use and set up, it’s ease of use is a stand out feature.” The installation and training were smooth, with only minor network issues to resolve. Brad continues, "Since its installation, the DC-618 has not only boosted productivity but also freed up staff to focus on other important tasks. This upgrade positions Lola Print to handle growing demand, explore new markets, and continue delivering exceptional results for our customers.”
